The oldest file I have in my computer of this song is 2010, but it has to be older than that. It was from the first batch of songs I've done, 2004-05 I would guess. That line "You gotta lot of nerve..." is very specific to someone, and the song is named after the bar we used to hang out at.
lyrics
You got a lotta nerve showing your face around here
Blatant disrespect better keep yourself in check
Last time we spoke I thought I made it clear
You stay on your side of town and I’ll stay on mine
Oh the thought chills me to the bone
Like the desert I feel all alone
The memories stick to my fingers like sand
Why you did me like this I’ll never understand
Oh your mirage of love was never there
I blinked my eyes and you disappeared
Oh your mirage of love it fooled my eyes
In this lonely desert no one hears me cry
What kinda fool did you take me for?
Should seen it coming should have started running
Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t love me anymore?
Should have known better gonna be hard to forget her
Oh the thought chills me to the bone
Like the desert I feel all alone
The memories stick to my fingers like sand
Why you did me like this I’ll never understand
Oh your mirage of love was never there
I blinked my eyes and you disappeared
Oh your mirage of love it fooled my eyes
In this lonely desert no one hears me cry
